Hello and welcome, this thread gathers useful ressources listed for you to get started with gardening:
- First, DO NOT plow/till your soil, learn here why: Assises national de la biodivesité with subtitles, Colloque choisir le vivant (with illustrations), English in situ explanation
- Make a map of your available space to grow
- A few techniques of farming with minimal maintenance:
- Optimize your frequency of harvests by spreading out germination cycles and by getting different varieties that mature at different periods
- Get seeds at your local store and let a couple of each plants go to seeding phase to get your own seeds for next seasons
- Make a few water reservoirs (ponds, water tanks, be creative) to always have water for your garden during warm days
- Dispose of your food waste in a compost bin to feed your soil
- Rince and repeat
Monitoring your garden can also be done with various IoT devices. If your garden is far from home, you can use a LoraWAN device to communicate remotely
